Arizona  2023 - Current

This large-scale statewide initiative focuses on improving schools that have underperformed for consecutive years, with the goal of driving sustainable, systemic change. Our team supports six schools in the greater Phoenix area by partnering closely with school leaders, teachers, and district stakeholders to address the unique challenges faced by each campus. Together, we co-created a comprehensive needs assessment that identifies root causes of underperformance, evaluates instructional practices, analyzes student achievement data, and highlights areas for targeted improvement. This process ensures that the solutions are tailored to each school’s specific context and aligned with state accountability requirements.

Based on the needs assessment, we collaboratively develop a multi-year strategic plan that includes clear, measurable goals, prioritized action steps, and aligned professional development to address critical areas such as leadership capacity, instructional quality, student engagement, and school culture.

High levels of implementation of the chosen through lines have been instrumental in driving success. Our team provides ongoing support through leadership coaching, job-embedded professional development, and classroom observations to ensure that the strategies are implemented with fidelity and adapted to meet evolving needs. Progress is regularly monitored using key performance indicators, and adjustments are made as necessary to maintain momentum.

As a result of this targeted, collaborative approach, five of the six schools have successfully met their growth targets, demonstrating significant improvement in student achievement and school performance. Notably, two of the schools have already exceeded their two-year goals and achieved scores that position them to exit MRO status ahead of schedule. This progress highlights the power of focused, intentional collaboration and the impact of implementing research-based strategies with consistency and rigor.

School Turn Around

During the 2023-2024 school year, our team served as the turnaround specialist and instructional coach for English Language Arts (ELA), leading targeted efforts to improve instructional practices and student outcomes. In this role, we conducted a thorough analysis of student data to identify gaps in student engagement and prioritized areas for growth. We collaborated closely with school leadership, teachers, and support staff to develop and implement evidence-based strategies aligned with state standards and accountability goals. Additionally, we supported data-driven Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to foster collaboration, monitor progress, and ensure consistent instructional practices across classrooms. These efforts aimed to build teacher capacity, improve student engagement, and accelerate literacy growth, ultimately contributing to the school’s overall improvement trajectory. North Middle School exited "Priority Improvement" in June of 2024.

Mathematics Model Classrooms

Edmond, Oklahoma  2018 - Present

This project encompasses comprehensive professional learning sessions and ongoing instructional coaching to support teachers as they explore and implement the Mathematics Teaching Practices outlined in NCTM’s Principles to Actions. The professional learning sessions are designed to deepen teachers' understanding of effective instructional strategies, such as facilitating meaningful mathematical discourse, posing purposeful questions, and supporting productive struggle. These sessions combine theory with practical application, ensuring that teachers can connect new learning to their classroom practice.

In addition to professional development, we provided individualized instructional coaching to teachers, offering targeted feedback, lesson planning support, and opportunities to reflect on their instructional approaches. Coaching sessions included classroom observations, modeling effective teaching practices, and collaborative problem-solving to address challenges in real time.

Furthermore, we guided the district through a structured and research-based resource adoption process to select high-quality instructional materials aligned with state standards and the district’s vision for mathematics education.
